WHAT ITALIAN FINE WINES PRODUCERS THINK OF CRYPTOCURRENCIES AND DIGITAL ASSETS: A SURVEY

Jun 25, 2021

The Italian Wine Crypto Bank, the only wine bank based on blockchain and cryptocurrencies, has announced today that is conducting a survey on the business sentiment of Italian wineries (fine wines) towards the cryptocurrencies and digital assets. “After months in which we have dealt with dozens of top Italian wineries we thought that it would be very useful for the entire industry to evaluate in a scientific way the attitude of the sector”, says Davide Casalin, IWCB – Wineries Relationship Manager. He adds: “Roughly the seventy per cent of the wineries we have talked with have a positive attitude towards crypto and digital assets: they are aware that they are here to stay, despite the ups and downs of the most famous, and any business, not only wineries, must deal with them in the future”. For this reason, indeed,  some very prestigious firms have decided to join the IWCB including Banfi, Baracchi, Casa E. Di Mirafiore, Cortese Giuseppe, Elena Fucci, Fontanafredda, Macchie Santa Maria, Mazzei, Planeta, Castello di Querceto, Sordo, Tenuta Impostino, Il Carnasciale, Castello di Perno, Incontri, Macondo, Arnaldo Caprai, Giuseppe Negro e Tasca d’Almerita.

Of course, there is also a number of wineries, often small, producers of exceptionally good wines that still have reserves, based often on prejudices and misinformation. “It’s a paradox, because these wineries, exactly because have rare small productions could receive huge benefits by marketing their wines to new market segments as the cryptocurrency and digital asset users worldwide”, concludes Casalin. The survey will be conducted during the month of July.
