Gianluca Biscalchin has released the preview of the NFT’s digital artwork while Sebastiano Capponi, the Count (he is a real one), manager and winemaker of Villa Calcinaia in Greve, explain while his Chianti Classico and his family are involved in this project.
“Fiorentina and Chianti Classico are two icons of my city that marry very well together. In my Villa Calcinaia Chianti Classico, the acidity of its Sangiovese grape’s part helps to cleanse the mouth. Its tannins, on the other hand, are sweetened by the more delicate part of Canaiolo and do not conflict with the “bloodish” component, because Fiorentina is served only rare, conferred by the meat. Even the term bistecca, from the English beef steak, refers a little to my family story because the Capponi, despite living in this magnificent city from more than 800 years, at the end of the 19th century, took up the habit of marrying foreign people. My grandmother Elnyth, who was half Scottish and half English, was born in Via San Niccolò in Palazzo Vegni and lived her entire life in the Oltrarno as part of the community of the so-called “anglo-boorish”, which at the beginning of the last century represented almost 10% of the population of Florence. The Fiorentina Beef Steak it is precisely an anglo-boorish union that my grandmother would have loved so much”.
