Solaria Jonica 1959 by Antonio Ferrari is an unique wine produced in Torricello, Puglia, from bush trained Primitivo grapes. This little area is one of the best terroirs for the Primitivo production and this wine is a proof of that.
The wine has a deep and lively ruby colour with garnet hints, surprising for a wine that has undergone 60 years of maturation. It has elegant aromas of preserved dark fruits, nuts, sweet spices and tobacco. The tannins are rounded, but still present and they do balance the smoothness of the wine. This wine is a unique product that could be drunk now or it could be kept in a cellar for other decades.
