The Italian Wine Crypto Bank (IWCB), the first and only wine bank based on blockchain, cryptocurrencies and fine wines, has also announced the participation of Tenuta di Capezzana e Boroli to the project.
These are just the latest two of the prominent Italian wineries that joined IWCB in recent weeks. Vin Santo di Carmignano Riserva DOC 2013, Tenuta di Capezzana
The Vin Santo di Carmignano Riserva DOC 2013 from the Tenuta di Capezzana winery is a sweet, full-bodied but incredibly fresh wine produced in Carmignano, a small town located North-West of Florence.
Vin Santo is obtained from Trebbiano and San Colombano, whose bunches are left to dry on the mats until the February following the harvest, following the traditional method; it then refines for five years in small cherry, chestnut and classic oak casks, left partially filled to allow the wine to acquire oxidative notes and a greater complexity.
Characterized by its typical bright amber color, Vin Santo has a complex aromatic profile composed of notes and hints of dried fruit, such as walnut and almond, and hints of candied apricot, dates and orange peel.
On the palate it is velvety and enveloping yet simultaneously well balanced by an unexpected freshness with a persistent aftertaste of candied fruit.
Vin Santo di Tenuta di Capezzana can age in the bottle for up to twenty years and acquire further structure and elegance, developing tertiary hints of roasted coffee and tobacco.
A true masterpiece of Italian wine production, Vin Santo di Capezzana won the platinum medal during the Decanter World Wine Awards 2019, with a score of 97/100.

Barolo DOCG Villero 2016, Boroli
Villero is one of the most iconic vineyards of the Castiglione Falletto area, near the Barolo village. This vineyard has a South/South-East aspect, ensuring fully ripe Nebbiolo berries at the end of the season, and soils composed by a mixture of clay and limestone. This elegant Barolo has been matured for 18 months in big oak barrels and then one year in bottle at least.
The Barolo DOCG Villero 2016 has a brilliant garnet colour, it is lively in the glass.
It displays powerful fruity notes of red fruits, such as red cherries and redcurrant, combined with an intense plum note. There are also a lot of spices aromas of cloves, vanilla and juniper. The tertiary notes are pretty delicate and elegant, not overwhelming on the nose.
The wine has high tannins and high acidity that clean the mouth and enhance the red fruits aromas on the aftertaste. The freshness of the wine perfectly balances the smooth texture and the high alcohol content of the wine.
The Villero 2016 by Boroli winery is an elegant and perfectly balanced Barolo DOCG that can easily age more than twenty years, if stored properly. In fact, the high tannins and acidity will help maintain the fruity flavors of the wine, while they are combining with the tertiary notes linked to the bottle aging.
